Ok, I've found google maps of Korea, they are Korean but actually not too bad. So I am making a map at 17-15-13 resolution. I am using zoom factor of 12 which gives me a plot of about 10kmsq. Now at the end of my project I will have like 1500 to 2000 plots. Do I just leave those as they are or do I somehow stitch them together. I know that VP does it but just seems like a lot of files. Also, all my files come out unnamed, do you remane you files?

Thanks,

Eric...

Why don't you make the pieces bigger? I made them for about .5° * .5° (about 90*90 km). Filesize is about 170-180 MB with Microsoft vitual world at level 17 and 15.

I can't make maps that large using MAC, it has an 18000x18000 pixel limit. If I try to create a map larger than about 100 sq miles (10ix10mi) I get a warning;
"IOException: Map too large. Max size 18000x18000"
and it won't make the map.

Is there a way to increase the pixel limit? I went into settings and changed the "Maximum map size (lengthxwidth)" to 1048575, but that didn't seem to change anything...not sure if that's total pixels or pixels on each side.

The largest map I've made is aout 87mb.

18.000 * 18.000 pixel is the limit of the rmp-format. First time, I used the new MOBAC, it created a single map file, out of about 22 slices. The size was around 3 or 4 GB. I canceled the map creation just befor it was finished. Don't know, if it would have worked. But I always set the max atlas size at 18000 pixel. I have some really cool maps of about .5°*.5° at level 14 and 17 of Microsoft satellite.

How do you create maps from multiple slices in MOBAC?

Mobac creates them by itself. Don't know how it runs.

I don't accept that since 20,285 x 11,443 pixels works: tritonforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3457

Feel free to prove us wrong... but 20,285 x 11,443 < 18,000 x 18,000 :mrgreen:

MOBAC won't create an RMP file greater than 2Gig. It goes through all the motions of downloading the map tiles but displays an error message when it tries to create the RMP file.

THX for correction. There should have been done some corrections in RMP creation im MOBAC.
