Say, Timmins, Ontario.... N 48° 29.360, W 081° 18.824; exact location of a geocache I have hidden. I have topo and mobac of google earth of this area, hi-res. I tried to see if there were any downloads available for free, ie - under 20 mb, didn't find on the site.

Thanks Sockeye very much.

Downloaded and tried the Timmins.imi map, VERY impressed, the georeferencing is dead-on in line with a MOBAC hi-res google earth RMP that I had created a while back. Super good job. I've created an account and downloaded the majority of the Timmins area maps, and will be sharing the .rmp ozi-based maps that I've made of my area - Hearst - Longlac - Caramat - Marathon - White River - Hornepayne - Wawa. A couple dozen for sure, all towns noted are interconnected by the individual maps.

Question - can MOBAC maps be loaded in this site as well ? I have a few of those made as well.

Thanks for your help guys !

Good....Let me know if you want any others or you can just post the requested map numbers in the magicmap forum and someone will do them for you.
If you want to upload maps you have made you can ask over here

All layer 1760009 roads are in there, display is depending on ROADCLASS and PAVSTATUS.
Is there additional road data available not in the TR Group?

If you go to magicmap and download the vector map 92f01 as an example and compare the area as it is in yours you will see all the secondary roads that are available...not sure what the TR Group is

Downloaded the BC sample and it does look great. Canvec road data is supplied by the provinces via Geobase. Unfortunately BC is one province that does not supply Resource and Recreational road data
(see http://www.geobase.ca/geobase/en/data/nrn/status.html ). Scott managed to get around this by inserting road data from the older NTDB. This is OK but in my experience the accuraccy is abominable. For instance in my area there are backroads going down the center of the Fraser River. This is the big problem with Magellan's maps because they used NTDB data. A digital road atlas is available from the BC Govt but is only partially attributed. It contains every road, trail, path and private driveway in BC (with 10 Meter accuraccy) but does not include road class.

I don't have that problem down here. Old roads even abandoned roads or trails are better than no roads at all. And as for the accuracy...I'd rather know there's something in the area to find than just bush....if you know what I mean.

Whole Canada is done.
Image

Maps in red have 1:50k quality, the blue one is based on 1:250k data and patched with 1:50k data where available.

The maps will be online tonight (CET)
