Triton 1500/2000 MOD R3 RC9.

Video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzjkHgEItsk

!!! FIRST READ THIS !!! Developers Corner Disclaimer:
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1591

Installation instructions:
Copy all files/dirs from archive to root of SD card.
Start GPS with SD card inserted.

Features:
- boot selection menu (press magellan logo to start original magellan software or MOD logo to start MOD)
- working taskmanager -> push esc button long (we can start multiple apps and circle amongst them and desktop)
- working small keyboard -> push center joystick button (enter) long (thanks to Black-Jack-Team)
- extended system path (all .dll files needed for apps and games are now in one directory)
- working left brightness button (thanks to Peter)
- working right turn off/suspend button (thanks to Peter)
- automated registry importer script (thanks to Peter)
- file type associations
- more working apps (belinegps, mmsirf...) and games (chess, bejeweled2...)
- cleaner footprint (every script is cleaned from unnecessary lines and program folders from unnecessary files)
- included OziCe button config file in OziExplorer dir
... and much, much more, try it.

File to download:
http://rapidshare.com/files/227296541/t ... 9.rar.html
(Rapidshare says it can be downloaded only 10 times so if someone can put it on other server l'll appreciate it)

Button codes that can be used in other programs (like ozice...):

Dec Button
38 Up
40 Down
37 Left
39 Right
233 Zoom -
234 Zoom +
113 Menu
235 Page
27 Esc
13 Enter (Center)
240 flashlight
236 Left|Up
237 Left|Down
238 Right|Up
239 Right|Down

Under the hood:
Taskmanager (SoftButton) is center of this modification, but without two other apps it will be useless.
First of them is Hotkey which can assign apps/scripts to hardware buttons. I set up ESC button to call QuickLaunch app and center button to call keyboard. QuickLaunch is essential to run aside with Softbutton because without it we could be able only to circle amongst started apps but without going back to desktop (with quicklaunch running in background we can circle also to desktop and why is the reason for this behavior i honestly don't know i found that pure by luck when i was playing with softbutton app). So, Quicklaunch then call Softbutton and we can then see running tasks.
We now have working small SIP that perfectly fits tritons resolution in portrait mode.
Also we can now use left-side button for changing brightness and right-side button to go to turn off device or go to suspend mode like in original triton app.
There is now date, time and battery meter on the top of desktop (unfortunately time and date are set correct only after you run gps app and when it sync internal triton clock).
We have audio mp3 player with skin support and it is finger friendly (there are two skins available at the moment and you can find them in app dir and you will see that it's relatively easy to make your own skin with xml configuration file).
We have now multiple pages with lots of working apps and games.
And much, much more, just try it...

KNOWN ISSUES:
- page (go to) button will work in MOD only after you go to suspend mode and back (right top button), even in ozice

Once again thanks goes to:
- people from GpsPasSion Forum for Mio Unlock hack on which concept this mode is based on
- MortScript developers for their great app
- Peter
- Black-Jack-Team
- F@re
- Sockeye
Without them all of this would be just a far dream...

Disclaimer:
Everyone is free to change, alter and modify everything in this modification. Hopefully people will share their knowledge with this community and we will all have benefits.
:-D

Sincerely, fROTNa...

How much space will this take up on a card with both igo, ozi explorer and all the other features the mod has?

Hi Frotna - new member here. I just got a Triton 1500 after learning it was possible to unlock and install OziExplorer. I have been running OziCE on an HP iPAQ 310 for over a year and have lots of maps, but wanted something more rugged in a handheld form factor.

Your mod is fantastic! THANK YOU so much for all your work. It installed perfectly on my 1500. Copied my OziCE folder from the iPAQ and it started up with no problem, but I was stuck without a keyboard to enter the registration. No worries, I just downloaded the OziCE update which has a built-in keyboard and I was up and running with all my old maps very quickly (although that keyboard is an exercise in frustration to use :-D ). The whole process including download of the mod, copying my old files and OziCE update took less than half an hour - nice!

I'm sure I will want to tweak things a bit myself, but the mod is great and everything works. Thanks again for a great job!

Cool -thanks! In Ozi, the menu, cursor, enter, escape, brightness and suspend buttons all worked right "out of the box". With your info I should be able to also get the zoom buttons to work!

@frotna: PM doesn't work so I write here:

I did a fast update just for you with my accompishments of the last time.
See: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MNLB6T4E
Attention: This is not a full version and just for developers! Download the mod from the first post! Updates from this file will be in future versions!

Note: During Upload I saw that some files are too much eg. SpeedLimit.reg (isn't working anyway) and maybe some other and I have not included everything. It's just for u 2 c!

=D> Thank you for the scancodes of the buttons. What a difference!!!

BR, Peter

I am not able to get these button codes to work in Ozi CE, unless I'm doing something wrong :???:

The default button codes (in OziExplorer.key2) define:

Up: Map Zoom In
Down: Map Zoom Out
Left: Display Previous Page
Right: Display Next Page
Center: Map Zoom In

The codes for these buttons don't seem to be definable. The Configuration tab only lets you choose codes for buttons 1-10 which default to 193-202. Now none of those match any of your numbers. On the Hardware Buttons tab, none of those buttons are defined to have a function either. But the Menu button actually does bring up the menu, and the escape button actually does escape from a menu function. The page and zoom buttons don't do anything.

I have tried assigning some of your codes to different buttons, saving to a file, then loading the file in Ozi. No luck. I also tried re-assigning different functions to every button using the default key codes and that didn't work either.

Any ideas?

@Boyd

Copy (or leave) the OziExplorer.key2 supplied with the mod in OziExplorer folder. You don't have to do anything else. Try it. Then - if you don't like the settings - you can adjust them.

Hi Peter and thanks. I did try that... sent the following PM in response to one from frotna:

Quote:
Thanks again for all your work on this! I downloaded the new version and the .key2 file. It does re-define the cursor buttons to scroll the map, but the zoom +, zoom - and page buttons still don't do anything. The Menu and ESC buttons still work as before for opening and exiting menu's.

Am I overlooking something? Looking at the .key2 file in a text editor I can see that you have defined buttons 1-10, but they don't work. This is the same problem I had when I tried this myself.

I am running the newest version of Ozi (2.31?).

I copied this new mod to my 4 GB Sandisk SDHC card that I had your other mod on and it would not "boot" I just cut and pasted onto the sd card. When that didn't work I formatted the card and reinstalled all of you mod files and it would not boot either. It would eventually go to the Magellan application as normal, but the enter key would only change the screen to a blank screen.

Any ideas what could be happening?

I had a copy of the previous mod on another 4 GB card and that worked perfectly.
