After my initial try at using the tritonExport macro, I did some serious work, but I got into trouble. In GSAK I have a database of close to 1000 caches. I have created a few macros to create subsets of the database so that I can choose which caches I will work with depending on the area where I am travelling to. I prefer to have no more than 100 caches in my Triton while I am geocaching (always on foot). The filters produce the subsets that I want. For example, using say, the Ottawa filter, GSAK lists the 106 caches that I want. When using the tritonExport macro, whether I specify "last active" or the "Ottawa" filter, the output created by the macro loads all 967 caches into the Triton.
I am wondering whether it is my use of the macro that causes the problem or is it something that I don't understand with GSAK filters (I am new to GSAK having started using it just a month ago).
Any comments or suggestions as to how I can get just the small number of caches that the filter displays into the Triton 500?
Thank you for your help.

I had the same problem . I resolved this by setting the filters in GSAK , running them then saving the results into a new database file.

Thanks. I was hoping to avoid that, but that is what I ended up doing. It works.

OK, I must be doing something wrong. It sounds great to be able to load my Triton 2000 from GSAK. I think I followed the instructions correctly.
1- Installed Magellan Communicator
2- Installed Communicator Mod
3- Went to folder and renamed TritonCommMgn.dll
4- Moved GPXtoTritonCom.exe to the same folder
5- Copied tritonExport.gsk macro to GSAK
Now what am I supposed to do?
If I run the macro, the "Triton Export Tool" window does not show "Upload" checkbox and "Save After" options.
What do I put in the "Directory" location?
When I run the macro, it seems to copy or download the 475 geocaches I have, but I don't know where to, it's not to my Triton.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I believe those are the directions I followed.
Do I need to run Vantage Point or just download to GPS?
There is no option for Triton 2000.
Is it as simple as downloading from Geocaching.com to GSAK, then selecting which caches to upload to Triton?, Or am I missing something?.
Sorry, not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks

Ok it looks like you have the steps done right but if you are not showing the check boxes make sure you are running the correct macro.

You need to make a new directory somewhere to hold the temporary or saved gpx file or you can use use an existing directory. It should look something like this:

Thanks for your help.
But I tried looking all over, cannot locate TritonExport.gsk 2.7.2 macro.
I have the 2.7.1 installed.
Where can I find the latest one?
Thanks

Ok, got it. It wasn't noted as being the latest update.
Now I get the right screen in GSAK, but now it seems that maybe Export Tool Program is not compatible with Vista 64?
Just my luck.
Why can't Geocaching.com just have a download to Triton option?
(sorry, just venting)
Any other suggestions?
Thanks

It should be ok with Vista 64, I myself run it with Win 7 64 with no problems. One thing you can check and that I have heard can cause problems is if GSAK is installed in the Programs directory and not in its default c:\GSAK directory. This is mainly due to the way Win7/Vista protects some system directories and unless GSAK is run in administrator mode it has problems changing and writing files. Maybe try right clicking on the GPXtoTritonCom.exe file and selecting properties then the compatibility tab and check the box to run this program as administrator.

Do you get any error messages when it is run?
Does it seem to run till the finish but not upload to the Triton?
Is the Triton set to connect to computer?
If you go to Geocaching.com, pick a cache, and pick send to gps, does it load?

Thanks for your help Dutch,
GSAK is in my my Program Files (x86) folder.
I went to my Magellan folder, where GPXtoTritonCom.exe is, right clicked, and changed what you suggested to run as administrator. Error message says that Windows cannot find the GPXtoTritonCom.exe file.???
Error Message:
"The program or feature "\??\C:\Program Files(x86)\Magellan\MagellanCommunicator\GPXtoTritonCom.exe" cannot start or run due to incompatability with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available."
It seems to run until the finish, but not upload to Triton.
Triton is "connected to Computer", but does not change from "waiting to connect".
Previously, I was also able to go to Geocaching.com and select a bunch of caches, and click "download waypoints" and save to a folder to open in Vantage Point. Now I can only download ".loc" files and Vantage Point dosen't open them.
Yes, I can "download to GPS" individual caches, Do you know if there a way to do multiple ones?
Thanks again for all your help.

looking back at you earlier post you followed all the directions and it worked with 400= files. It saves the files to the GSAK folder in documents as export and some numbers as a gpx file. click it or choose from VP. Anyway if it worked before its not GSAK or your PC. recheck all the latest changes sence them.

Give this one a shot. I recompiled it in 64 bit mode. Try it out and see if it works. The only other thing I can think of trying is to tell it to run in 32 bit mode. Anyone else having any problems on Vista 64 bit?
